Today's Nanjing Museum hall imitation Liao dynasty palace style, designed by the famous architect Xu Jing straight, modified by the architect Liang Sicheng, details and decorations both take the Tang and Song dynasty legacy, the whole hall majestic, is a modern masterpiece of architectural history, but also a landmark building of the South Museum.

The Nanjing Museum has a collection of up to 420,000 cultural relics. As far as the eye can see, there are colored pottery from Dadunzi in Pizhou City, bronzes from the Western Zhou and Spring and Autumn Periods unearthed in Yizheng, Dantu, and Liuhe, golden beasts of the Warring States unearthed in Xuyi, silver wisps of jade garments and the "Seal of the King of Guangling" unearthed from the tombs of the Eastern Han Dynasty lords and princes in Xuzhou and Yangzhou.
